I will be sending home communication folders biweekly. Please sign these so that I know you have seen your students' progress. In these folders you will find their DIBELS test scores. DIBELS helps us determine your student's progress, and understand what areas need further instruction. I utilize these tests to create lesson plans that help benefit the student's needs. If you ever have any questions, comments or concerns please contact me at [email protected] . Thank you! february_update.docx Hello! I am privileged to have your child in my class. I am excited to be able to help your student work on their reading skills. We have lots of different activities, which we complete each day. We play games and do activities which help them gain the skills they need to become fantastic readers. It is great to see the progress they are making! In The Red Folder…. *In your students red folder, there is a paper with their results from this week’s progress monitoring. Progress Monitoring is when we use DIBELS tests to help us understand what reading skills your student either is proficient in, or needs a little additional assistance. To help you better understand what these numbers mean, I will attach some information that can help you decipher the codes! *There is a form in the folder where we can communicate questions or comments. I am open to any form of feedback. :) *Also in the folder, you will find a sight word book. This book is for the student to practice. Reading these commonly used words repeatedly, will help them become better readers. If they are continuously sounding out every word, then they will lose some of their comprehension of the text. In order for them to flow through their reading easier, it is highly recommended for them to practice reading these sight words. :) *Also, if I do not have a permission slip or contract signed by the parent, I will be sending an additional copy with your student, in their folder. Please fill this out and return to me a.s.a.p. ***Please return the red folders on Monday. If you have any further questions or concerns please contact me. [email protected] |
